This book is a compilation of various articles on the issue of human trafficking. This served as a reader for "Trafficking in South Asia: A Conceptual Clarity Workshop" organised in 1998 in New Delhi. The various contributors include Mabel Umfreville, Jyoti Sanghera, Sumanta Bannerjee, Gail Pheterson and Linda Grant among others.
Activists and academics have, at various levels, contributed consistently to anti-dowry campaigns- including quite a few at the realm of civil society, to stop the menace of dowry. Women's movement in different parts of the country fought dowry through consistent campaigns and the 1980s can be considered an important decade in this movement. This information pack attempts to analyse the waves of initiatives in the two decades between 1983 and 2003 by compiling news clippings, analytical articles and reflections on campaigns, movements and legal debates.
