This book will lead educators of 'Dais' (midwives) through an eleven day long comprehensive training. The book is intended to guide, inspire, provide a clear structure and give creative ideas for training Dais. This book is composed of eleven sections corresponding to the eleven days of Dai Training which contain reading material interwoven with a manual for the daily session.

This series of twelve feature articles focuses on violence against women in the public domain and the responses, strategies and campaigns to resist such violence and make urban spaces safer for women at all times of the day or night.

The series of seven feature articles has been brought out as part of the UN Women Global Programme on Safe Cities Free of Violence against women and girls being undertaken by Jagori in partnership with Women’s Feature Service with support from UN Women s Office for India, Bhutan, Maldives & Sri Lanka.

"ससुराल से नैहर तक" उत्तर प्रदेश के सोनांचल क्षेत्र के एक ऐसे आंदोलन की गाथा है जिसके अंतर्गत दलित व आदिवासी महिलाओं ने माफियों, उच्चजाति, सामंतों, वन विभाग एवं पुलिस विभाग व पितृसत्तात्मक समाज के उत्पीड़न का मुकाबला भूमि के दखल से किया। इस पुस्तक में इस क्षेत्र के प्राकृतिक संसाधनों (जल, जंगल, ज़मीन, आदि) पर नियंत्रण के सवाल पर महिलाओं की मुखर अभिव्यक्ति को विश्लेषित किया गया है।

इस पुस्तिका में हरियाणा के मेवात जिले में खरीदी जाने वाली लड़कियों, जिन्हे 'पारो' के नाम से सम्बोधित किया जाता है, उनपे किये गए शोध के निष्कर्ष प्रस्तुत हैं। यह शोध पुस्तिका 'पारो' महिलाओं की सामाजिक, राजनैतिक, आर्थिक व सांस्कृतिक परिस्थितियों व जीवन संघर्ष को उजागर करती है। इन लड़कियों की खरीददारी के पीछे सामाजिक व सांस्कृतिक पितृसत्तात्मक सोच व नियंत्रण का जटिल ताना-बाना नज़र आता है। यह शोध स्पष्ट करता है की पारो का आयात केवल मात्र भ्रूणहत्या जैसे दुष्कर्म से उत्पन्न हुए लड़कियों की कमी के वजह से ही नहीं होता। वास्तव में यह एक ऐसे समाज की विकृत मानसिकता का प्रतिबिम्ब है जहाँ औरतों को पुरुष के यौन ज़रूरतों को पूरा करने का साधन मात्र समझा जाता है।
