Jagori: A rather personal experience

“…I realized that feminism is not merely yet another “ism” or a heavy-duty principle but a hope, desire, and a voice hidden in a corner of every woman’s heart”. Hindi writer and translator Veena Shivpuri shares her memories from the eighties.

About Living Feminisms

Living Feminisms is an attempt to share archives preserved by Jagori, a New Delhi-based feminist organisation from the eighties. It offers subjective accounts by our curators as well as access to publications, songs, pamphlets, posters, photographs, poems etc. Together, they reflect the diverse spectrum that is the autonomous Indian women’s movement, its struggles, solidarities and differences, laughter, anger, carefree moments, campaigns, love, loss, work and home.
