Surviving Crises Rebuilding Resistance

by Jagrori
This report presents the proceedings of the conference on ‘Surviving Crises, Rebuilding Resistances: Women’s Struggles for Sustainable Development in South Asia’ held in September 2001 in Kathmandu organized by Jagori and Sangat. The conference was a collective exercise to consolidate the analysis and insights emerging from movements/ struggles challenging and resisting the dominant market-centred paradigm of growth and development; and striving to change the orientation of our economies and societies, to equip this resistance with arguments and examples, to counter 'one size fits all' development models and global 'solutions'. The conference also provided a platform for a coalition of women's movement across the region.
